Summer in the UK is in full swing -but it won’t be long before things relax and the clocks are changed again. So what should we do if we want to make the most of the warmer weather for as long as we can? There are a few activities that, of course, go well with the warm weather.
Photograph
One of the great things about summer is that it is much more pleasant to be outside. So if you want to start photographing nature, now is the right time to do it. In addition, if you are an early riser, you can take advantage of the so-called golden hour, when things seem really wonderful.
Sport
Some sports are well highlighted in hot weather, such as Golf and Tennis. If you want to do a few laps on the tennis courts or a day on the greenery, it’s a good idea to do it in warm weather. Both sports can be expensive-but with proper planning and preparation, you can find that you get the necessary equipment without spending too much. In the matter of Golf, you only need a basic set of rackets. If you decide to stay in the Sport, you can invest in more esoteric rackets such as fairway woods.
Hike
If you want to explore the beautiful landscape that you have access to, hiking is a great way to do it. Britain is full of hills, rivers and forests, all ripe for exploration. Hiking is another activity with very few barriers to entry, especially in summer. You just need the right pair of boots and light clothes. Once you have more experience, you can start conquering some of the longest routes and the highest peaks.
Gardening
Entering a green space can be beneficial for a variety of reasons. First of all, you are outside and absorbing vitamin D from the sun. Secondly, you are going to do body activity – because mowing the lawn, tending the flower beds and cutting the hedges are often a bit of training. Thirdly, they are surrounded by greenery, which has been proven to have a positive effect on mental health. And finally, you can grow edible plants, which you can then take back to the kitchen.
A well-maintained garden will also increase the value of your home, making it a rewarding step if you plan to sell in the near future. In the warmer months, it’s not just about sunbathing and beer gardens. Take advantage of these extra doses of vitamin D while making the most of life with new and rewarding activities that can accompany you for many years to come.
